Employer sponsorship isn’t one-size-fits-all. There are many visa options available and it is important to select the right visa subclass for both the business and the individual being sponsored. Employer-sponsored visas range from training visas through to permanent residency.

Employer Sponsored Visa Types

482 Visa: Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482)

The 482 visa is an employer-sponsored visa. Live in Australia and work full-time for your employer sponsor.

186 Visa: Employer Nomination Visa (Subclass 186 ENS)

An employer-sponsored permanent residency visa. We manage both Direct Entry (DE) and Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) streams.

407 Visa: Training Visa (Subclass 407)

A training visa that allows workers to enhance existing skills or meet licensing or registration requirements.

408 Visa: Temporary Activity Visa – Subclass 408 (Sporting Activities Streams)

An employer-sponsored visa that allows skilled sports coaches and elite athletes to live and work in Australia on a temporary basis.

494 Visa: Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa (Subclass 494)

An employer-sponsored visa. It replaced the 187 (RSMS) visa in November 2019.

491 Visa: Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

Replacing the 489 visa from 16 November 2019. A points-tested visa requiring state or family sponsorship.

191 Visa: Skilled Regional Permanent Residence Visa (Subclass 191)

A permanent residency visa for people who have held a 491 or 494 visa.

187 Visa: Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187 RSMS)

An employer-sponsored permanent residency visa for skilled workers sponsored in a regional location.

Set your business up to sponsor overseas workers in skilled occupations.

457 Visa: TRT Grandfathering Arrangements for 457 Visa Holders

Do you hold a 457 or a 482 visa? You may be eligible for permanent residency under the transitional arrangements.
